So the only way I can post is through comments. After a 25.5 hour flight, we are here! We're 7 hours later than Shreveport, so jet lag, combined from starvation due to European airplane food, has me in a daze. Our drivers took us to our guest house- it's surrounded by a huge wall, and a black iron double gate swung open slowly to let us enter. Inside this guest house the women stay separate from the men, so Kris is bonding right now with the other two guys that are on this trip with us. My room has bunk beds, and as I'm sitting on the top bunk typing this, the smell of insect repellent in the air, I feel like I'm at summer camp. But then I look out our bedroom window and see the guard outside, dressed all in black, military beret sharply angled on his head, and the automatic weapon in his hands brings me back quickly to the reality of where I am. Tomorrow we go to the genocide memorial, talk to some genocide perpretrators, and help with the street kids ministry! I could go on all night about how stunned, grateful, and blessed I am to be here. More on that later, when I can focus and the smell of bug spray isn't choking me. Thanks for the prayers and all the support.
